Safer Smarter Kids

The Safer Smarter Kids (SSK) curriculum is to empower children to identify and avoid unsafe situation and access help if they are made to feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Throughout the lessons in this curriculum, children are armed with protective principles including:

  • Children's bodies are their own and they always have right to say "no' to anything that makes them feel uncomfortable, “icky” or confused;
  • Children need to have a few adults they trust who they can go to whenever a situation arises that makes them feel scares or uncomfortable;
  • No one should ask children to indefinitely keep secrets from their parents or trusted adults.
