Nurses Corner

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your student(s) to Morris Early Childhood Center. Morris is comprised of dedicated teachers and support staff. Everyone at Morris E.C.C. share a commitment to assure all students have a wonderful educational experience within a safe and caring environment.

I graduated in 1992 with an associate degree from Delaware Tech & Community College. I hold a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Nursing from Wilmington University. I am currently licensed as a registered nurse with the Delaware Board of Nursing and I am licensed by the Delaware Department of Education as a School Nurse. I have over 25 years nursing experience including school nurse at Head Start and Delaware State University. I have been the school nurse at Morris ECC since February 2018.  I have a diverse nursing background including oncology, medical-surgical, cardiac, and post anesthesia care.

I live in Harrington, DE with my husband and our dog Charlie.  I have 4 children including twins at the University of Delaware. I have one grandson named Shaun who starts kindergarten next year.

My goal is to assure all students remain in the classroom as an active and participating learner. The school nurse is responsible for supporting the overall educational process and functions to provide for "in-school" healthcare needs.

I am here every day to render care to your child as well as assess and identify their presenting illness or injury. Treatment will be implemented in alignment within the scope and directives of the Delaware School Nursing practice.

It will greatly assist both your child as well as me if you will continue to provide the school with any changes in your contact information. It is vital and of the utmost importance that I have the ability to reach you at all times during the course of the school day, especially in an emergency situation.

I urge you to contact me for any concerns or changes in the health status of your child. I am available to meet with you in person or to discuss issues via phone or e-mail. My office is open during regular school hours. My office email, phone, and fax numbers are listed above.

Thank you for the opportunity to care for your child. I look forward to a happy, healthy, productive, and safe school year!
